    A nice little catch

    by pmcnealy » Tue Aug 29, 2017 1:57 am

What a good day fishing! We saw a big rip about 10 miles off Stuart, FL and decided to get some live bait in the water.
About 10 seconds after casting, BANG the drag is screaming! It was a huge sailfish. after about 20 minutes, I was able to get her onboard; here she is.

After pulling that badboy in, we went deep dropping off Pushbutton Hill. It wasn't incredibly fruitful, but as least we didn't get skunked.

Thanks! I'm getting out this weekend for the start of snook season. I've never fished for snook, so this should be interesting (if for no other reason than I'm going at 4:00AM- so early).

    What a bummer!

I used to get skunked all the time (still do when trolling). Now I do a lot of deep dropping, and am a lot more successful.

What have you been doing (trolling, live bait drifting, etc)?
